The Pacific Northwest, 1890. You remember the burley men in buffalo plaid with their heavy duty axes and cross-cut saws. When tree felling had a real romance and a real danger. When two men could fell a 10-foot diameter Douglas fir with hand tools. When beards were thick and knotted muscle was all you needed to do your job.

Wheaton IL, The Present. We like to think of ourselves as the modern day equivalent of these guys. Think of us as shepherds of the forest or giant-tamers (also known as arborists). It’s our job to provide the right care for your trees: to save them and keep them healthy, or to remove them safely, if necessary. We promise to use up-to-date tools.

The Difference. We practice regenerative tree care. Regeneration means that we try to improve the health and structure of existing trees with longer-term natural solutions that don’t rely on chemicals. For example, regenerative care would try to improve soil health and the health of the ecosystem the tree is part of. We would also recommend planting native trees rather than non-natives. Regenerative care means we plant more trees than we take down. We currently partner with another organization that plants two trees for every tree we remove. Here’s the scoop on that.

We are based in West Chicago, but serve the DuPage County area, focusing on Lombard, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Winfield, Carol Stream, West Chicago, Geneva, and St. Charles.
